Dan Mahoney Retirement
Jul 02, 2012
On April 20, 2012, Dan Mahoney retired as the Assistant to the President for NABET-CWA after 14 years of working at the Union’s headquarters in Washington, D.C.
Dan first came to work for the Sector when he was elected as NABET-CWA’s Secretary-Treasurer in 1998, at the Sector Conference held in Chicago that year. In 2002, that elected position was converted into an administrative position, as per the merger agreement between NABET and CWA. Dan was appointed at that time by then-Sector President John S. Clark to the position of Assistant to the President.
Prior to working in Washington, D.C., Dan served as the Secretary-Treasurer of NABET-CWA Local 57 in Los Angeles. He first became a NABET member in Local 16 in New York, when he was hired as an editor at WABC-TV in the early 1980s. He subsequently became a member of Local 57 when he took an editing position at KABC-TV on the West Coast.
NABET-CWA thanks Dan for his Local and Sector service, and wishes him well in his retirement.
