  • Must have effective communication skills, good interpersonal skills and good organizational skills.
  • Previous work experience in managing all relevant aspects of IT systems including hardware, software applications and associated products including: Windows based servers and associate desktop/laptop servers preferably in a television broadcasting environment.
  • Be a leader and team player.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with experience in designing, updating and maintaining television studio and transmitter facilities.
  • Must be a self-starter with a proven track record to see projects to completion.
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems quickly and effectively and find solutions for staff.
  • Training and experience with IP/Network based systems and electronics theory.
  • Strong computer skills with ability to use basic office applications and advanced applications.
  • Basic knowledge of current OSHA rules and regulations.
  • Proven ability to function effectively under deadlines and in high-pressure situations.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and a safe driving history as determined by the Company.  Driving record will be checked. A background check will be completed.
  • Implements department objectives and goals and is held accountable for results.
  • Degree in Computer Science or Electronics is preferred.
  • Responsible for planning, installation and maintenance of IT infrastructure.
  • Works well in a collaborative, team environment.  The position will also require good working relationships with consultants, contractors, and vendors.
  • Assist Director of Engineering in facility planning and equipment budgeting.
  • Supervise technical maintenance staff.
  • Work with News department to plan and execute special projects.
  • Repair and maintenance of all station equipment including broadcast, computer/network and building equipment.
  • Oversee preventative maintenance program.
  • Project planning - monitor project progress to ensure that projects stay on target and completed in a timely manner.
  • Staff development and training - ensure that staff has the proper training for assigned duties.
  • Tasks as assigned by Director of Engineering
  • Must be available on-call as needed, including evenings, overnights, holidays and weekends.

Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions. Must be able to lift and move up to 75 lbs. and climb ladders. Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job. The Company will make reasonable physical accommodations to facilitate the ability to perform essential job functions.
