The Media Systems Tech works under the general direction of the Operations Lead Engineer.  Other duties including IT Help-desk may be required.

     Key Activities

  • ·        Key Media Prep Activities
  • ·        Aligning satellite and ENG receiver and receive systems.
  • ·        Down-linking satellite feeds with proper audio and video levels.
  • ·        Responsible for dubbing commercials and programs into video servers with proper technical parameters.
  • ·        Responsible for loading and playing back pre-recorded programs, promotional, and news material.
  • ·        Operate On-Air automation equipment, Master Control Switchers, and Transmitter Remote Control.
  • ·        Troubleshoot and respond to malfunctioning broadcast equipment needed for on-air operations.
  • ·        Perform mid-level troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair/fixes for both hardware and software.
  • ·        Ensure change management procedures are followed.
  • ·        Keep current with technology development, trends, and regulations in Broadcast and IT to ensure effectiveness and compliance.
  • ·        Key-Systems Activities
  • ·        Provide technical support for station personnel including software, workstations, laptops, printers, tablets, and cell phones.
  • ·        Actively monitor network, voice, and video equipment ensuring prompt response to alarms.
  • ·        Perform mid-level troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair/fixes for both hardware and software.
  • ·        Keep current with technology development, trends, and regulations to ensure effectiveness and compliance.

     Skills

Education & Experience/Certifications

  • ·        Associates, Bachelors, or equivalent experience will be considered.
  • ·        IT Certifications are strongly encouraged.
  • ·        At Least 2-3 years of experience in the field Broadcast Television or IT Help-desk.

Skills & Abilities

  • ·        Ability to work in a team environment.
  • ·        Advanced troubleshooting skills.
  • ·        Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical materials.
  • ·        Ability to interface with people spanning all levels of technical aptitude and business position.
  • ·        Ability to work independently.
  • ·        Strong attention to detail with proven ability to manage multiple tasks and deliver quality products in short time-frames required.
  • ·        May be required to work a non-traditional schedule.
  • ·        May be required to work at a station remote location such as Downtown Circle Studio, Transmitter site, Indianapolis Motor Speedway, etc.
  • ·        Occasional driving required.
