WHEC-TV (News10NBC), Rochester, NY a Hubbard Broadcasting station seeks a dynamic News Director who is a strong leader with a clear vision and the ability to communicate that vision to his/her staff.  You must be passionate about covering the news and producing compelling content on our television and digital platforms.

We produce 5 hours of news each weekday on television. Our television and digital content is marked by outstanding breaking news coverage, living our First Alert Weather brand, and reporters who dig, producing investigative reporting as part of our daily journalism.  Our digital team consistently ranks #1 in viewer engagement, attributable to strong story-telling.

We have built a team that is driven by excellence in journalism across all platforms.  This year News10NBC won the national Edward R. Murrow Award for Best Newscast.


  • Develop strategic plan for television and digital platforms for market leadership.

  • Five years' experience in news management.
  • Demonstrable record of product improvement.
  • Available to work nights, weekends, holidays.
  • You must have a valid driver’s license and a safe driving history as determined by the Company.  Driver record will be checked.
  • Responsible for content, production, and presentation of content across all platforms.
  • Develop a strong news staff through leadership, training, evaluation, and daily contact with your staff. 
  • Identify and recruit talent as needed; serve as mentor as appropriate.
  • Responsible for creating and managing a budget and properly handling all personnel issues.
  • Developing the news department's strategic plan.
  • Collaborate with all department heads on station projects and initiatives.
