The Maintenance Engineer II works under the direction of the Director of Engineering to provide preventative maintenance and emergency repairs of video, audio, IT, and HD equipment and radio frequency (RF) systems including high power UHF transmitters and microwave. Heavy emphasis on Newsgathering equipment including camcorders, VTR's wireless gear, live trucks, and monitors.

The successful candidate will be someone who can manage a staff, meet daily deadlines, and make key decisions on appropriate content for broadcast. Works collaboratively with the Production Manager, Director of Development/Membership and others to develop and produce local programming and community outreach events. Works collaboratively with the Television Programming/Traffic Manager, Production, Marketing, and Operations & Engineering staff to coordinate scheduling of all television underwriting credits, PBS, and station promotional interstitials. Responsible for installation, repair, and preventive maintenance of University-owned broadcast apparatus as well as occasional engineering support for CMU video and audio production activities.
