Colleagues and Friends,

With great sadness I write to inform you that former Local 21 President Bill Lambdin died on Saturday, January 2, 2021. Bill had been hospitalized in Albany, NY and was being treated for an infection when he unexpectedly suffered cardiac arrest.

Over the years, Bill worked for several radio and television stations in upstate New York and in Chattanooga, TN -- but spent the majority of his distinguished broadcast career as a reporter for WNYT-TV in Albany, New York. Bill retired from television broadcasting, and relinquished his role as Local 21 President, in August 2014. Bill holds the distinction of being the longest serving local president in NABET-CWA history, with 29 years of stellar service to the Union.

Bill Lambdin was deeply respected by his colleagues at WNYT, the members of Local 21, the politicians he covered as a reporter, and by all in NABET-CWA who knew him and worked with him throughout the years. In addition to his professional acumen and his union advocacy, Bill will be remembered for his great sense of humor and for his signature choice of leisure wear -- his colorful Hawiaiin shirts. Aloha, Bill!

Please join me in keeping Bill, his family and his friends in your thoughts and prayers.

With respectful sympathy,

Charlie Braico
President
NABET-CWA
